Weekend homes

Weekend houses and cottages are a deep-rooted tradition in the Czech Republic. In recreational homes per capita, we are second in the world, right behind the Swedes. Our weekend homes are our second home — often more loved than our city apartments — and Czechs are exceptional in the care they put into their holiday properties.

KONTIO, the traditional Finnish manufacturer that has been building quality timber homes from Finnish Arctic pine for decades, offers a wide range of homes suited to recreational living. Choose anywhere from small, cosy, romantic cabins and log houses, through comfortable family holiday homes, up to large, luxurious weekend residences offering every conceivable comfort and amenity — think home cinema and an indoor pool. A sauna is a traditional part of Finnish timber buildings, not just the holiday ones.

We build turnkey homes! If you have your own project, we would love to build your weekend home turnkey according to it — taking care of everything from the foundations to the last tile in the bathroom. We can also build just a closed shell; it all depends on what we agree individually. You can always be sure your holiday home will be built from quality glue-laminated beams, quickly and professionally. Choose from several beam types depending on local conditions and your taste. The non-settling SmartLog™ beam is an ideal solution for a modern weekend home. We can also build in a traditional style, and we'll happily work with you to make sure your weekend home blends with the surrounding landscape, whether modern or traditional.

A KONTIO weekend home becomes the ideal place for your holidays — but also a second home that always welcomes you with a timber interior, a pleasant indoor climate and the scent of pine.
