How fast a KONTIO log home goes up, and how it's kind to your budget

Manufacturing the home in Finland takes three months; from assembly to moving in takes roughly half a year. How it works, and why it's cheaper than you'd expect.

Construction speed is often the deciding factor when choosing a type of home. Manufacturing the home in Finland takes around three months, after which the beams are shipped to the building site. The advantage of ready-made, precisely cut and milled material is that nothing needs to be cut or planed on site — you get a kit that fits together to the millimetre.

In practice, this means you can move into your new home roughly six months after assembly begins — depending on whether you choose a closed-shell delivery or a turnkey home.

Solid timber construction is also low on energy consumption. Thanks to its properties, Arctic pine keeps a stable temperature — no overheating in summer, a cosy warmth in winter, and during spring and autumn the wood stores solar energy and gradually releases it back into the interior.
